Hi, I’m Kai.
Professionally, I sit at the intersection of Cognitive Science, Usability, Machine Learning, and Interaction Design. How did I get here?
My career has evolved from its origin in digital advertising to designing an AI driven intelligent assistant for the financial sector and now help my teams design digital experiences for high-net-worth financial clients.
I truly love what I do. I love what I am working on, the people I work with, and how product design satisfies my craving for more complex issues to solve, as it evolves, daily. If I had to pinpoint my main career goal — it would be to maintain this progression of complexity and to put my efforts towards greater human issues. For example, one issue I would love to help solve is the harm caused to our environment due to the lack of sustainable practices in the fashion industry. My graduate capstone (SUAVS) highlights a snapshot of the problem along with a startup trying to do things the sustainable way, serving as an aspirational example. It will truly take a cultural and societal shift to eliminate the problem all together. I hope to eventually leverage UX design and research methods to make that shift happen.
I am also a fine artist. I’ve explored a range of topics, but all encompass a figure and a particular message.
